[REQ] Wind monster

Hi,

I would like to request a wind monster: a not-too-big floating monster (e.g., a cloud) that attacks with wind.

Thank you in advance for any sketches or sprites or sprite sheets! :-)

Random ideas:

1)traditional tornado (maybe with personified face and arms), perhaps recolorable per area (brown in dusty desert, white in snow, etc.)

2) Tattered floating robe and hat. I imagine asian straw hat, shadow "face" (maybe beady red eyes) and dark grey robe (samurai kimono?) torn at the ends, arms out zombie style (but no hands or legs, etc). Animated with visible wind currents circling (black lines), and thrusting out in attack.

3) Female version of above: floating skinny dead, grey based woman. Like a banshee. Animation(unengaged): spins/flashing invisible for 1/4 second and reappears, like she is "in the wind". Shoots wind from hands.

4) Wind God: blue-based round face surrounded by cloud hair. Chubby cheeks, mouth blows wind. Search for 'wind god', its a traditional concept.

5)Freaky guy cross legged on a cloud (evil, wind controlling magician or beast).

6)Any kind of creature, hairy, scaly, or whatever can look unsuspecting and yet control the wind. As if it has a 6th sense that allows it to control wind, but it only uses wind to defend itself (like any good creature of nature), or knock baby bird nests from trees to eat or something. I picture a wind-summoning warthog....

I don't really think that an elemental creature should have eyes. What do you guys think of this?

nice job on making it look like its rotating!

IMO needs to be taller...

For an attack you might make the top of it whip in or lean in to the player...

Alternatively it could just shoot out or extend out anything.

It should be transparant IMO.

Making it transparent will probably degrade its expression power depending on the background.

Could be worth a quick test, though.

I still think its too small, even if fate doesn't want it to be too big.

Hi,

the width could be okay, but it's not quite tall enough. Also, it would probably look less like a sack if it were broken up into lines. I'll see if I can sketch what I mean later today.

Hi,

sorry, but it took a bit longer than I though to get around to doing this:

This is only a snapshot rather than an animation, of course, and not particularly polished, but I hope that it illustrates the idea. An attack animation (omnidirectional) could be a growing, darkening one (like a thunderstorm cloud), perhaps shooting out lightning (perhaps not; that might be too cheesy.)

ED says: this is the bare minimum height, though. Anything smaller would be a whirlwind baby, which I'd prefer to avoid until we've figured out precisely how they reproduce.

This is a great illustration of the wind monster :) I like the idea, cool! 8)

maybe a new monster not so much a tornado. In irc it was discussed that monster animations could be attached to particle effects but idk if it has been done yet.

perhaps the monster could be something more inorganic like a crystal that generates a small tornado for movement and hovers at the top of the tornado like an eye.

maybe something coming out of the tornado similar to the tazz cartoon from bugs-bunny?.

(((this is just a concept-art)))
" hovers at the top of the tornado like an eye."----or inside of it ..i was playing with the idea and came up with this :| ..(i hate the skull in it, but its that what i meant by "inside")
