He's looking good, but the front view still looks a little odd. When his mouth opens, the square boxy yellow lips look really dreadful. Also, is there a reason that the fire-breath particle is underneath the blue selection circle?

What are you talking about? the square box part are not lips but the opening of the mouth and is mostly covered up by the particle effect. Maybe you should not be commenting on how pixel art should look if you have never made any.

It won't be when particles are used.

I don't care how the fire is done as long as it maintains the pixel fire look and feel.

At this point I'd like to have a guarantee that it will.
