I was looking for old graphics on forums.
Forgotten Stuff Recopilation: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... 048#p46048
After some views I find this monster:

I was trying to add a front view to that forgotten graphic.

IDK if that graphic will be used on storyline or is just part of that post recopilation, I dont find the autor name on that post.
¿Could help to complete that monster?, i dont know if that is a usable graphic, just pick it and add some lines.
----------EDIT-----------
Try to draw that head again is really confusing, I do another version of same view:
Maybe use other brigther color as a lizard could help more, on darkred more details get lost.
Other 2 versions of the head... I wish some help of course

It's from the same guy who created the slime and the fire goblin. So I guess it's OK to use.

It is a really cool graphic, so feel free to finish it. I am sure we can find a use for it.

Dinosaurs in The Mana World?

Could be interesting.

You front view looks great... only one tiny thing that bugs me.

The foot on the right (its left foot) drops a bit low and give it a slight limp of sorts. I stared at it from 6in away to see were it got its limp from and that the best explanation I could come up with.

Again Great job!

The front view is too narrow, IMO. I would suggest making it a bit wider. (That way the details don't get so clumped together and you can utilize the full potential of the design. Also that way the outline of it in the front view does not have to be so disturbingly square.)

Otherwise good work (I like the tail animation), good initiative. We need more of this.

Another try, this time adding an attack sequence to both views using the same flare sprite used on fire goblins.

I think monster head is the mayor problem to solve the front view (and need to fix that).
That´s all by now... I prefer to say its "a sketch" instead a crappy draw

Pateame,

this looks very promising! Two things, though:
  • The creature's tail moves left to right, then warps back to the left when walking downwards
  • For the sideways walk, the feet seem to be roughly at the same height. This doesn't match the 45 degree perspective.
  • Lighting for walking to the right is from the right instead of the left.
Keep up the good work! :-)

also, we could use particles in the attack animation. Like the fire goblin on TMWServ builds

All newer clients should be able to do it.

I would propose to name this monster "fire lizard".

For added flexibility I would suggest to remove the fire from the attack animation to replace it with a particle effect and make all the red parts dyeable.

¿can we keep the flame and create the particles over player and not monster?
If poison monsters has a 'poisoned' particle effect over player, maybe fire monsters should have 'burned' particle effect over player (so fire skull dont feel so depressed)

Still need to fix the previous suggestions about legs and tail and the death and rest positions, with more time be done of course. Also still dont know the name of the original creator of that graphic! (Modanung?) ... Im sure that creator have a different way to see the final pixel and it can help me a lot.
There´s the new try with walk and attack on all views:

Thankyou very much Pateame! I've been wondering when someone was going to finish this out! There's a lot of good stuff out there that just needs a little love. Can you edit this topic to [WIP] "Monster", where monster could be something temporary like "[WIP] Dino" (until it has a permanent name), so this sticks out a little better in the forums?
