Can we get a new apple that actually looks like an apple. Maybe like what I've drawn here:

Did you check Git?
The old one was fixed with proper lighting direction, perspective fix, and is even recolorable (so green, yellow, or even purple apples are possible)... .

When viewing please note that it's not the actual color of the apple... It's dyeable on the channels RGY, so it just appears to be pre colored at first glance.
The "Apple" (item 535) had it's item description changed to "Red Apple" with the dye presets of: R:#FF3600;Y:#FFC000;G:#66CC33 . While a green apple isn't currently defined in the items.xml or itemdb, the channels will likely be: R:#73E600;Y:#C1F102;G:#66CC33 ... just in case you were going to test it.
