Your shading technique is a typical example of "Pillow Shading", a typical beginners mistake. I would recommend you to google for some pixel art shading tutorials to understand why this is bad and how to do it better.

You have to consider perspective and light direction

Perspective: top-down 45° view angle

Light Direction: South-West

You seem to be much more learn-willing than others, Zendet.

You shouldn't place a highlight in the upper left though, when the rest of your shading comes from the upper right.

You still need some practice and experience, but you have potential.
