It's unfinished, and rather painted than pixelated. And it's GPL if you wish to do something with that.

A branch needn't use pixelart art, or even tilesets
(I've been thinking about using a painting that is broken down into layers )

That would be nice. I think a maybe slightly sketchy watercolour would make a wonderfully surreal little branch. Add in a few little twists and it would be great. Classical music, I see it now.

Do not add the grass, instead, add transparency. because a rock like this will be going over a grass tile set the grass peaces will fill in anyway. So adding grass is not realy something needed here.

Some days ago I was in the country. There I saw a lot of stones. They weren't covered with grass. There was only moss. And in the coldest part of the stone moss was growing faster, then on the hottest. I remembered it and made stone, like was near my house.

can you see how the sides of the rock are all one shade? i was in the country also and never saw a rock that was all one shade and perfectly smooth. now you may say "you can make rocks smooth" but even then they are going to have different shades. look at i's picture of the rock and how all the sides of the rock have lots of different shades of grey, not just one.

Very nice. I'm not sure about color, but diversity is a good thing.

poison_ivy: if you feel up to, you may produce more rocks of that kind. We could use them on tutorial island in CR1. I like the shape however lightening may be a bit more aggressive.
Later we will add some plants and grass on separate layer.

It wouldn't fit into any of the existing scenarios of the game, but I could imagine a volcanic plane with that color palette.

Those rocks would fit scenery near star observatory and lighthouse. Color could be aligned to existing tiles.

I remade me. I read book about using GIMP. Now I made stone, like example in this book.
