Switched to grey to show what it looks like the purple palette matches something else I was working on that I was thinking of using this gate in as well. Anyways I still need to add the shadow and plants and some rubble below where bricks have fallen off. Any constructive input is welcome.

While your purple palette might have gone a bit too far, keep in mind that "pure" gray is quite boring. By mixing a tiny bit of color into grays you can create "warm" grays and "cold" grays which give your artwork much more atmosphere.

Here an example for a warm gray color ramp (with a bit of yellow) and a cold gray color ramp (with a bit of blue):

For the graveyard tileset, for example, I used a cold gray for the tombstones to create a contrast with the warm palette of the graveyard walls.

It doesn't look like the pillers have any depth to them

Thanks Crush I see what you mean I will play around with the colors some more. To be honest when i switched it from purple I just manipulated the saturation (taking out the color) since I didn't have enuff time to work on it at that moment. I appreciate the info on color ramps I will see what I can come up with.

@kage I thought it looked kinda flat too I was trying to think of a way to add a little more depth given the TMW perspective I was having a hard time coming up with any ideas tho when I have a bit more time to work on it I will see if I can figure something out.

Thanks for the input as you know I am fairly new to pixel art and have much to learn input is always welcome. :) I will post progress soon.

The pillars look flat and one of the reasons is the cracks in the rock. A chip out of a corner isn't going to let you see right through the pillar - do you get what I'm saying? The big chip on the right pillar, for a start. Am I to assume the crack goes right back along the rock - getting bigger, also, so I cannot see the top or bottom or side of the pillar it is cut into?
