The music is in the data/music/ folder in the game folder.

It's in ogg, but most programs like winamp and many digital music devices (mp3 players) can play them.

I don't know if it's ever been in midi-form.

why do you want it as midi? do you want to use it for another game? you are only allowed to do that when you publish the game GPL licensed.

How hard would it be to enable the user to select which music file they want in the background while playing? I too like the "login music" and would enjoy it as the background while also having the sound FX.

Any suggestions for fixes on my own?

Thank you!

You can find the music files in the subfolder data/music of your tmw installation. when you want to change one of the songs just replace it with another file of the same name.

A "cleaner" way would be to use the Map Editor to change the background music files of the individual maps (Map->Properties->music).

I'm dowloading the editor now. I'm not sure I follow you on that first part. I see the songs (Is the song I'm talking about "Real" or "Faith"....do you know?), but replace the file??

What Crush means is replace all music files with the login song.
If you want to hear the same music throughout the whole game you can just play it in Winamp and disable music in the game. :)

So I've got Tiled open. And I've got new_1-1.tmx.gz open.

Questions (and thank you for your patience!!):

The "About" window seems to be loading the program? Do I have to wait for that to finish to save changes?

I didn't think so, because I was able to change the song from "faith.ogg" to "Magick - Real.ogg" in the properties of the map. But I reload the world and no change. Do I have the wrong map (for the desert just south of town)?

My song choices in my data file are:

Faith.ogg
Magick - Casino.ogg
Magick - Real.ogg
Magick - Smallgrass.ogg
Magick - Snow.ogg
finalman_and_yakslem-cavesong.ogg

Is one of those even the login song?

Thank you!!!!

It is possible that your changed file is overwritten by an update.

Oh poop! You mean the update it checks for every time you start up?

well, not overwritten. Your changed file is still intact. But there is another version of the map in one of the updates and the updates have a higher priority than the files in your tmw directory.

you can fix that problem by opening each of the zip files in the subfolder /update and remove the changed file from each update.
