Keep your eyes peeled for bots

Methinks there are bots among us.

I have never seen peoro and dewell out of the bat cave,
they are always there everytime I log on,
they do not respond to me,
they do not pick up items,
they don't seem to mind when I pick up their items for them ;)
and they have a peculiar way of moving around the cave.

My suggestion is to destroy their accounts.
Anyone second that motion?

It might be wiser to try to get the alleged bot from them so the coders may patch the problem.

 Preemptive strike?

all bots should stop working as soon as we switch to the new server protocol. after that any new bots won't stay very efficient for long because the game mechanics will change very fast.

when the new game mechanics are implemented we can worry about the bot problem.

(no, pvp is NOT a solution)

Nobody wants to PvP a bot anyway, only bots PvP bots :P

They were my asleep players ... maybe only bots can sleep then
They have reached an insane level by doing that I think (they make about 180 damage points / hit !)

I've noticed those players.I would not mind that much if they wasnt stealing my kills. They keep the "levelling cave" practically bat free.Sometimes I go down there to grind for a while if I dont feel like hunting for "real" monsters and everytime they are there and wipe the place.

If the owner of those profiles programmed those bots himself we might ask him to join our team as an AI programmer. :)

i assume that they are using standard RO bots. the simpler bots that run on eAthena with standard RO configuration should work on our server, too.

Peoro is one developer that contributed with some patches, and he idles in IRC as well. Not enough to consider him a bot.

But it's true he has some real strange behavior in the cave ... and if he's a developper he could well have made a bot !
EDIT : just come now in the bat cave and see by yourself !

Is that supposed to mean players won't be able to attack players someday? How woefully boring!

First of all, no ofcourse it doesn't mean that. We'll have PvP. Second... what is your post doing in a thread about bots?

At least the bots don't have something like megahal built in, thats always annoying :P

Well, I kicked them and they not reconnected. So, it looks like they are bots, because every normal player would log in and start yapping about why he or she got kicked.
Anyway, telling us that bots will stop working when new server protocol is implemented is obviously naive, in every game there are bots and macroers, this one is not going to be any different, especially because it is opensource.

Regards.
