Here we can see who *actually* cares what would happen to players. Thanks, 4144 and everyone else involved. I tested this and it works for me (except showing news, as promised). Nm0i, does it works for your ISP as well? I guess these bastards can use different announces about blocked resources. I.e. at this point there should be no failed downloads preventing game so you should get right data at first try, client would DL from another mirror on error, taking no extra user interaction in this process.wushin wrote:and here we go.

And from my side, since ManaPlus supports mirrors, I guess I can create some mirror if someone needs or wants it. I can place mirror on some EU machine, running with its own IP address (NOT shared with drug dealers and somesuch), 100Mbps/unlimited traffic, fairly good EU connectivity and so on. Someone interested in something like this?

Yes, specially after all the BS everyone is doing everywhere on the planet to ruin the Internet for all of us.

Regardless of all the semi-political BS flying around, I've been working to find a solution to the problem that doesn't involve the TMW admins constantly monitoring for and mitigating censorship issues. 4144 added mirror support to the client, which certainly helps but isn't an end-all solution due to the various creative ways some countries/isps/monkeys block sites.
It took a while but I finally have a server-side solution. TMW now uses the free jsdelivr (http://jsdelivr.com) CDN which is widely used by many websites and projects. They are a frontend to multiple CDN companies and are very responsive in both finding and routing around censorship issues due to their large userbase of open-source projects. Hopefully this will permanently and correctly solve the problem while still allowing us to offload some traffic and provide better speeds. Time will tell.

I take offense at that statement.MadCamel wrote:Regardless of all the semi-political BS flying around,
My statements about censorship have been *fully* political.
