I was wondering if anyone had thought about movement around Mana World, aside from shanks pony

I was thinking that a cool idea would be to have a blimp service. Set up a couple of blimp towers, complete with tethered blimps, and have NPC's to sell tickets at a ticket stand.

Then, when the world expands and you want to have different islands or major towns, you have a system that you can use to move characters between islands etc.

To choose between the places you might want to go, have a separate map which is a sea of clouds with mountains poking up from underneath with place names. Then have a little sprite blimp move to the destination choice.

Just an idea. I'd have a go at the graphics except that I'm a lousy artist

World of Warcraft already did it.

Typical. I've never played or seen it (and have no intention to do so)

Just goes to show that all the ideas in the world are already taken

These aren't original, but since we're on the topic:

How about a giant catapult and landing net
Dragon Airways - complete with palanquin on the back of the dragon.
Stork airlines - a giant sling that is picked up by a giant stork flying through

They've all been done before, as have all the other teleportation-like ideas. I think that anything that gets done will have a resonance with something that has been done before
