My suggestion....

Okay, I have a grand suggestion.

It appears that this is not common knowledge. I just had an arguement
with someone (who will remain anonymous for sake of humility) who
thought that GMT was USA "General Mountian Time"....

Somewhere on the website it should note that the server's time is based
off of Greenwich, England. Not states like Utah and Nevada. This would
solve this GMT problem.

This is a serious problem! If someone in college that has, or is working
to get, a CS major thinks that GMT is "General Mountian Time" then this
is a big problem. lol

So, my suggestion is to clear up some confusion by noting where the
server time is based off of. GMT appearently isn't enough for people in
college.

EDIT: Oops.... This probably should have went in "Website Development". It's too late now though. A mod can move it if need be.

AFAIK we use UTC.

And the problems with your educational system are really not our problem.

In UTC isn't mountian standard time -7 UTC? That's almost like GMT, right? USA CST is -6 GMT. So MST is -7 GMT. UTC is similar. May not be exactly alike, but it's similar.

UTC and GMT are the same when it comes to timezones. The only difference is that UTC uses more and frequent leap seconds. But this is not really an important concern when calculating the difference to your local timezone.

GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time AFAIK.

ROFLOL

It might sound cruel, but I agree. If we adapt ourselves to fit their stupidity they'll never learn :)
