it could be a good idea due to the lack of privacy in the game to create a private chat, also it could be even better if we had a list of friends to chat with, and be able to chat with them even if you are not seeing them.

Already in. Use the "/whisper <name>" command to send a whisper to someone. It's completely private.

We definitely have to document this better. Maybe an NPC ingame should mention this "trick".

Crojas: Versions before 0.0.25 do not feature this feature. You'll need to uninstall your old client if you are using a pre-0.0.25 release. I would recommend you compile 0.0.26 from the downloads section of the website.
