Warlord Helmet defese lowered?

Is there a reason to cut the defense of Warlord Helmet to +18 ?? Or am I just missing something?

We did that because we added shields.

lol and what about the archers? now i'm nearly helpless against the snakes they're hitting me round 5 now

don't forget that the beauty of a ranged weapon is that you can attack from a distance. ;-)

Of course this doesn't help if the Hatmaker's Dungeon is packed-- in that case, get some friends to help. I have found that this dungeon is quite easy now that the half-second lag after being injured is gone.

The crusade helm matches. Those are the only two helms over +15.

We are getting closer and closer to the magical 100% defence mark.

I am afraid that we have to do a general nerv of all defence items in the intermediate future.

This is not funny and the genius that get the idea of changing the def points of the armor should have at least enough brain to compensate for those of us that use bow instead of sword. the state above is in part a lie, is almost impossible to hit anything from a safe distance and why should i have to get help from another players to go to the mines when i have worked hard to get to 54 lvl and not depend on others? in any case, instead of giving us a few points extra, they should have all our stats reset.
Next time, if you have more ideas, try to do changes fair for all the players. there was no chance of making a quest for archers to get short shields? or different class armor?
as a final note, the lag issues might be solve for some, but for me at least, the lag is still there and affects me mre now that i have less def points. thanks a lot, and keep up the good work.

It was never lag, it was stun caused by being hit, which the client was ignoring. We fixed that. Your connection lag must be the cause.

Guys, this is still pre-alpha! Whether or not something is fair to all players doesn't really matter as the whole point of the 0.0.x versions is to try out features for 0.1.
They just want to see what the optimal defense values for each of the items is, so don't bash the GMs for testing stuff on their test version.

Armor value balance tests on eAthena are quite irrelevant for TMWServ because the damage calculations on TMWServ work completely different. What the content developers are doing in regards to balancing items is only for the benefit of the current server.

Woudln't it be easier to make defence point-wise (like vit) instead of percentage-wise?
