rare drops > quest > store
I’ve always believed that the best stuff should be rare drops and not a quest items. Because there is nothing like spending fivedays (about 12 hours each day) hunting for that elusive drop to the point of giving up and just when all hope is lost, it suddenly drops! (Anyone who has hunted for cards in RO knows what I speak of)
I also like the Idea of upgrading weapons (with the chance they could break), the idea that every path has a downside or risk is what I truly love

We could do 0.01% drops. Many old and current quest items would fit in nicely.

I don't think our community is as hardcore as I would like (so this is probably going to get shot down). they can not understand the joy and frustration of a +8 double bloody boned weapon (standard pvp weapon of RO)jaxad0127 wrote:We could do 0.01% drops. I think it's a very cool idea!

Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

I wholeheartedly support this motion towards rewarding the hardcore with that extra something.
0.001% is where I'd draw the line with how rare something can be. We should have a few of those for every category of equipment available. It doesn't matter if any of them don't even get dropped for months or even a year.
When I was younger, five days of straight grinding or farming were practically nothing.
I've done about 68 x 8 hours of farming (practically 6 months of semi-active playing) for one item, that's about my record. It was quite fun and we went for it with a regular group and the exp was not-so-bad for our level (actually quite good in the beginning) either.
Mindless grinding and farming is mindless, but it does grow your ability to stick to your goals a bit. Patience seldom hurts in life.
Totally worth it.

A once or twice a year item would be awesome! I'm in favour!

Although it requires a lot of common stuff to work well. It's boring if you get crap and then have a really low chance of getting something nice.
It works best if you can get something decent with moderate effort, something nice with a bit more and the ultimate with devotion.

The Ancient, Bloody Jagged-bladed Sword of Horror and destruction, +500, would suit this role.
