A online shop could be created when the new CPanel is integrated, and you can buy items with contribution points, which are earn when suggesting features/ideas, reporting abuse or bugs, etc.

What'cha think?

I think players should contribute suggestions from the goodness of their heart and not because they will get something in return.

Installing a system for rewarding contributors might motivate some people to do something for TMW.

But in my opinion only real work should be rewarded and not just making suggestions because we already receive more than enough of them (and most of them are unusable).

We would also have to balance such a system carefully to avoid people doing stuff which gives them a lot of points but does not really add much to the development in the end. I am also afraid that it might summon a new wave of plagiarism and ripping by people who want to get some points without actually investing any work.

I don't think a system like that is gonna work good. I prefer to see something like a contributorscap ingame. Ideas, reporting abuse, and reporting bugs, should not be rewarded IMO. I prefer to see actual content and more bugfixes instead of people telling how the game should be made. (and yes I also prefer to see myself working more instead of just talking like I know everything  )

Uhm, I didn't mean reward for EVERYTHING. Maybe some interesting piece of code, or help with sprites. But not just for a "You should do X!" topic in this forum...
But yeah, you may be right. Although this idea is good, it's destructive capacity is enough to blast the server how it currently is. But could motivate players a bit more to contribute.

Also, if this were to be implemented, it could be from 1 to 10 points depending of the usability, and items could be, for instance, packs of normal items (ie, 20x potions), being this pack a higher number, like 100~200.
Also, donations would recieve of this points as well as a little incription on a page called donators.php.

IMO contributor hats should be enough.

Rewards such as these for "pieces of code" and "graphics" will eventually result in a few players stealing copyrighted works and contributing them in pursuit of the rewards.

Alxe: I'm with Crush on this one. I agree that so many things could go wrong.

Forgive my tossing in my 2 GPs ... but contributing should be its own reward. Whether we beta test, design new NPCs, contribute code or plan new quests, etc.

Good, it was just an idea. If I get some time, I'd try to help with the project in general :)

As it has: critiquing an opinion, makes it evolve, and get right shaped for everyone's fit.
