is there a way to make the particle ingine reflect a players image? on the ice areas? This could improve the way the ice cave looks cause i want to make the floor a reflected image of the cealing

This is nothing the particle engine can or should be doing. The particle engine is for drawing particles and not a general purpose everything-but-a-kitchen-sink graphic effect system.

But when someone has an idea how reflections could be done in a flexible and performance-considerate way I am all for it.

what about it being cliant side were when on that map you c your person reflected beneath your feat but has a lighter shade to him so he blends with the ice. idk how you could make it work but i figured someone may. guess we got to find out :/

I made a mockup how it would look when all sprites would be mirrored at their feet. As you can see there are severe perspective issues. The only way to solve these issues would be to redraw all objects from a different perspective.

I am sorry, but I am afraid there isn't much hope for your idea.

There are also alignment issues. Reflections should touch (or atleast not be so obviously far away).

i noticed that to but still could it work if it was alterd were the angles were backwords?

The alignment could theoretically be fixed, but there is no technical solution for the perspective issues.

Is it relly that bad reflections are funny things print that out and take a mirror to the image and examin how it reflects IRL you c the same prespective in the reflection dont you?

Try putting something else near a mirror. Notice that the object and it's reflection aren't identical. The reflection shows a different side of the object then what you see directly.

Sprite positioning is bad at the moment anyways. Until that is fixed, reflection will always be off unless we do expensive calculations.

At the moment we have more important issues to solve. Both technically and artwise.

If we at any point happen to find ourselves without anything critical to do for the project, we can look into this.

Technically the better way of saying it is that there is no TMW yet.
