Got something on your mind about the project? This is the correct place for that.

This seems like more of a job for 'automatic away animation'. Sprite or particle effect like a thought bubble over the character's head that appears after 2 minutes of no action. Yes afk hat would be easier to implement but I doubt it would see efficient use (after the initial excitement dies down)

here are some ideas.

1. player immediately sits when equipping the AFK hat (no fighting possible with AFK hat on). the moment the player stands up, it comes off (with the possibility of his previous hat immediately replacing the AFK hat). so, warlord helm to AFK (player is in sitting position), the moment s/he moves player's warlord helm is restored.

2. AFK hat is not in inventory so it cannot be sold/bought/dropped/lost/accidentally kicked into the snake pit. it appears like the emotes, except remains "equipped" as long as the player sits. movement causes the hat/symbol to vanish/be replaced by previous hat.

3. timer. once player has not moved/spoken/blinked/scratched her/himself for "x" number of minutes, "AFK" appears overhead/on hat. amount of time can be set by player in Settings tabs. times can be predetermined (5 min or 10 min, choice of two, for example).

4. hat appears when pressing a single key (like Q), or a combo like Alt - ~

dumb ideas maybe. sorry if they're all repeats
