TMW is still active. You're on its forums and you can find the game at server.themanaworld.org on Manaplus.

Nobody destroyed TMW.net since it barely ever existed. Platyna just bought a new domain and ran a copy of TMW, but never properly launched a real server.

themanaworld.net was left to expire by its owner, Platyna

we aren't responsible for any of that, and Platyna is free to renew it if she wishes so

themanaworld.org was registered in 2005; themanaworld.net was registered in 2013.

Nothing was really "stolen". The host was changed through questionable (IMO) means, but that was 5 years ago and the project has moved on. Not only has the host changed multiple times since then, but the people working on TMW have also changed.

Crush upheld his promise to never close this thread, but everything has to end and I feel like on this note we can finally put an end to this old thing. I'm closing the thread.

Nice, whole a bunch of 9 players online when it used to be 50-60 at this time. Forums seems dead - many sections with last post last year, Player Talk before my post had last post four days ago and made by one of your TMW Killing Committee members. Looks like you tried, but did not manage to steal the community along with user files.

I guess we're just not paid enough to deal with all the opposition to any kind of progress, so we stopped all progress and yet the complaining hasn't stopped. What DO people want? Kindly, pay us a salary or do it yourself. Nothing stops anyone from joining the team and helping things move forward.

I did it without demanding salary, for 8 years before my data was stolen from me. And I wonder why I get bans and board warnings, I do not break any rules, but well, the times when people were banned only for breaking the rules are gone.
