Hi EJlol,

How can I use the direct download format, it seems much more convenient. For example: download/file.php?id=13369

I think the correct "phpBB" term for what I am asking is: Why are the posting of attachments disabled on my account?

The relevant FAQ sections would be:
Can I post images? wrote:Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode {img} tag.
Why can’t I add attachments? wrote:Attachment permissions are granted on a per forum, per group, or per user basis. The board administrator may not have allowed attachments to be added for the specific forum you are posting in, or perhaps only certain groups can post attachments. Contact the board administrator if you are unsure about why you are unable to add attachments.
Also, while the example you gave did work, it was literally several lines of hashed gibberish. The URL I used from google was supposed to be the direct link to that image file, they even had a "copy the link" button for it.

Here, I added CODE tags, just to explain what I meant:

Code: Select all

You are pointing to a website that has the image but you need to point to the image directly: (to see the BBCode you can quote this reply)

To post an image:

Method one:
1. Right click image and select "copy image location".
2. Select the image icon in your mana world to get [img] pair.
3. Paste the text between the [img] set.

Method two:
1. Use the attachment option to add the image file from your computer (after you downloaded it of course)

Enjoy :alt-3:

Edit: I just tried method one and found you need to add one [img] set with the pasted code only and another [img] set with www to get the image to load. However when I did this it ate all my text from method one point 3 onwards.

It feels like... Wonky world...viewtopic.php?f=4&p=159133#p159043 8)

Thanks!

Can you please share a screenshot of where in the forum's interface you find the (2) Attachment option. I have not been able to lock that one down yet.

It's located below "submit" on the left side. Next to the options button. The "attachments". :alt-3:

Awesome thanks! This is exactly the information I wanted. :)
Fighting my doppelganger in Stendhal: The Blordrough General, level 210, 57000 XP.

Leveling is easy on these Blordrough from about 215 onward, supplemented with the daily and weekly XP-proportional quests (they scale to the XP breadth of the level you're currently on ... brilliant design choice.)

A giant Balrog in the depths of Hell! I wonder if it will level me as it did for Gandalf the White in LOTR?

I needed this Black Death for my Daily Monster Quest. It used to reap the souls of the damned, and now has been reaped in turn.

Turned in the Daily Monster Quest in Semos, after solving a riddle required to leave Hell. It paid out huge XP, 806K, always scaled to current level.

Killing the Dark Archangel solo; a level 500 final boss in "High Heaven" (Kik7). At my level (410), mega-potions for this are a good idea. To reach this point in Kik7, one must pass alternating Light & Dark mini-bosses on a strict time limit, so having a full set of Light (Mithril & Magic) and Dark (Black) armor with you is a good idea.

Killing the Golden Death in Hell solo; a level 450 final boss. Not the hardest to defeat, but certainly the hardest to find, with only one in the game, on a 20 hour randomized timer, in Hell ... which kicks you out, even in the middle of your battle, if it determines (randomly) that you've been there too long. This is the only creature to drop the Golden Blade, 0.5% chance, easily the best and most sought after weapon in the game. So in addition all the other barriers, this boss will often be camped heavily, and if PvP or KS is going to occur, it will most likely be here. I was very lucky to find him alone and undisturbed. Two full sets of armor are recommended, Light (Mithril + Magic) for the Golden Death, and Dark (Black) for everything else in Hell.

Fighting solo the level 500 giant monstrosity Gashadokuro. It is said that the bones of the dead raise this creature fifteen times higher than a person's head. Formed from the bones of starved humans and slain warriors, left unburied upon the land. Gash is of neutral type, so take the strongest weapon and armor you have to meet him, ignoring all elemental resistances.

Admin Fantasy gave us an awesome SuperDeath raid today in the Ados Barracks. This thing is a Golden Death on steroids, with millions of HP and enormous elemental resistance. Wearing full Black Armor, it did 800 damage on me in a single hit. With all Light (Magic & Mithril), I was able to tank it mostly on Pizzas and a pile of greater potions. Huge difference! Bring the right armor, if you wish to survive.
