prsm wrote:first and foremost, i would like to thank the development team for the last 2 quests! Good to see the effort put into the quests to stop the botters and the multi-boxers.

But I have to ask why do some of the worst players to rear there ugly had, show up during the quest time! You know the ones, they muscle in on kills, and show an affiliation to being single children that have been spoiled!

i was lucky enough to do the quest with a high level player, and was treated with respect, but when i showed up with an alt that know one knew ...... the honor-less players showed up! They try and muscle out the weaker ones! i have tried to play the game with honor, and i think i still do ..... sadly others dont! The only good thing is that they are in the minority. But those of you that do, we are watching and we do remember.
I agree with everything you wrote, and could not have said it better, Prsm. I particularly like the "magic present boxes" in the Christmas-time quest!

I, too, encountered many thoughtless people with my alts. Many did respond to my requests to be more considerate. There were plenty of genuinely nice people, too, which made the quest more fun. I even took turns kiting mogguns with a few of you. Such cooperation with strangers is a pleasure. :)

I will add one thing to what Prsm said: when you push around a low level character, not only might you offend a well-established player, but they might lose patience with your attitude and give you grief in return. To paraphrase one player, "If you bot away from keyboard, I'll complain to a GM. If you're just a jerk, I'll deal with you myself."

While I see nmaligec's point that developers could coordinate more with GMs, a determined person can always find a way to be mean to others. Maybe we should just appreciate the developers for the wonderful things they add to the game, and appreciate the GMs for their hard work in keeping the game from devolving into "Lord of the Flies." :D

I *try* to be nice, but when I'm looking for dropped items from red slimes in the mine, having two good spawn-ratio zone, you often find someone else either already here, or coming while you're here. Then, if they're a lower level, they can't get a hit because of higher attack speed (and archer)....
There's zones not meant for 10 peoples at once, it won't even have 1 mob per player.

This all come back to Doloy's topic about GP... currently i think the most "rentable" mob (in term of money) is red slime, and I don't know any better place to find a lot than the mines.

All this comes from old decision to add parties and exp sharing. IMO parties good...exp sharing bad.
exp stealing used to be against the rules...now it is a feature.
And maybe it is being expanded...in new game balance idk.
I can live with it, I have for some time now.

The mechanism for white presents going directly to player inventory should be put in effect for all drops imo.
this would prevent drop stealing from weaker archers who can't rush into dense mobs while strong warrior stands on anothers drop till it can be picked up.

In general I have noticed lower drop rates inspiring greedy behavior and drop stealing...some might call it competitive.
While drop protection still is not perfect for dial-up users either...it is much better. when lag is bad it happens...
Why ever allow a players drop to be stolen? why not straight to inventory?
Why allow exp sharing outside of joining parties at all?

I'm sure someone would come to event and hit every monster 1 time and leave, stalling the whole map, but maybe there is a solution
that could prevent this based on passive and aggressive mobs? idk either
my 2 cents....most people are nice....high rank, well known players get treated better, this is the way of the world.

you are going to find that this sort of steeling is the norm everywhere in and out of game...

the only time that i have seem it work or be fun and competitive is in other games that use things like --->dropping gp on a pvp death ,pick-pocket skills and/or other things that would make up a so called thief class and the way they are under powered vs other classes (never wining a stand up fight)...

some thing like a thief class may fix some of the A-hole-ness, at the least make it more fun to "get your stuff back" ..or being a thief geting hunted for steeling form others...

i thief class is just my pipe dream ...and would take much work i do not know how to do...... :| :? .

so, i guess this post is pointless-----skipy
back to working on---> (crypt)then(player 1.5) and more. *been on hold do to my laptop being fix* any feel free to add/help. ill be up and working as soon as i can ...good luck to all.
