[GTP] French
Hello all, I copied the french translation of TMW of the web page http://gitorious.org/mana/mana/blobs/master/po/fr.po and pasted it on a text page (Open Office text document but can be changed if asked!) I changed a lot of typos and spelling mistakes only on the french translations!!!, I don't care about english, it should normally be perfect. There is one .zip file of my modifications. These modifications cannot be ignored!
http://gitorious.org/mana/mana/blobs/master/po/fr.po
However, I found several bugs that someone need to explain to me! ("#" = # lign on the web page / "->" = "shouldn't it be transformed to: ?")
3772: "Two Handed Weapons"
3773: "Armes à une main" -> "Armes à deux mains" (see lign #3764-5)
3784: "HP BAR"
3785: "Barre de vie (niveau maximum)" -> "Barre de vie" [Why "niveau maximum" written here?]
3787, 3789, 3791 "#/4 Barre de vie" -> "?/4 de la barre de vie"
3971: Emote in french is "Emoticône" or for singular "émoticône"and not "Emote"!!
3974 ??
3871: "Stats" is in French "Charactéristiques" and not "Stats"
Hope I helped.
Regards, Napalm.

Re: [GTP] French
Did you actually try this translations in the game? Some are a lot longer than the original texts. This means that they might be too long for the GUI elements which contain them. That's most likely the reason why the previous translator didn't translate "Emote" and "Stats".

- NOT a game master
Please do not send me any inquiries regarding player accounts on TMW.
You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.
Re: [GTP] French
Leave the "niveau maximum" as he was written, its as the 3787 3789 3791 lines, but for the 4/4 (imo).3785: "Barre de vie (niveau maximum)" -> "Barre de vie" [Why "niveau maximum" written here?]
"Caractéristiques" without the 'h' please3974 ??
3871: "Stats" is in French "Charactéristiques" and not "Stats"

Re: [GTP] French
Ok, fixes are done thank you Reid. However, I don't know how to implement it in my own server... and I don't have the time too also. Can someone be nice enough to test it? Reid, Bertram of whoever wants!

Re: [GTP] French
Hi Ali-G,
Don't take it personally, but i asked everyone to use poedit and it was for a reason.
Your modifications are simply unusable in odt without having to copy paste them back in the good format.
Can you port your modifications on the original fr.po file using poedit http://www.poedit.net
and give me the file? A simple diff tool will permit me to see what changed and I'll try it in game for the modifications included.
Thanks and best regards.

That's all, folks, more "relecture" are necessary.
Have a good day.

Re: [GTP] French
Here is the final list of what needs to be changed.
The form is like this:
lign# -> [Text]
Every single line is different and has been changed! So don't ignore the line if you don't see where it was changed. It was that's all.

Re: [GTP] French
Hi Ali-G,
Thanks for your efforts... Yet, and for the second time, please do make your modifications in the fr.po file using poedit.
I sincerely don't have time to hand-copy sentences written with an unknown encoding after searching each corresponding english meaning. More clearly, I'm sorry, but I won't handle your modifications unless you provide the translation in the specified format.
Best regards.

Re: [GTP] French
So what do you want me to do clearly?
Re: [GTP] French
Hi Ali-G,
Clearly, step by step:
- download poedit,
- install it.
- run it and click on: File->Open.
- search the fr.po file in the client sources po/ directory.
The tool will list the sentences translated or not.
- Make your modifications.
- Save
- Zip your modified fr.po file
- Post the zip here
And hop, you've translated the good way.
Best regards.
