This is a Norgle

Norgles are busy workers. Used to hard work and rough winters.
They like to stay alone most of the time. When they are with others they seem a bit cold but they never mean it bad. As much as they like to be left alone sometimes they will join in having a nice party and a few drinks.
....

(just trying to also give it a bit of a story line)
As long as it's not about my eye...
CAUTION! Do not look into laser with remaining eye.

Leela, I really like the Norgle. Very original idea. =]
He needs a little "light from top left shading" this will help show perspective better.

You didn't understand, I meant that you can take some idea from it. As the color that I used, the form of the ears et cetera.

The style is just too different.

Also, while the heads of children are large in relation to the body of the child, they are still small in relation to an adults head.

I would suggest to create the child sprite by editing the adult sprite. Shrink down both the body and the head, but shrink the body more than the head.

Here is a template for child NPCs in comparison to adult female and male NPCs I made back in 2008:

Oh, and by the way: Image I made this NPC back then as a proof of concept. As far as I can tell it has never been added to the game data, so feel free to use it for the Thermin update.

Not surprising since this started as a baby for a baby new year NPC idea, so yeah the head is a bit big.
so I was thinking more toddler and almost named it that
I walked and talked at 9 months and had a large bulbous head...
You know not hydro-encephalitic or anything but bigger than most.

As to the face...well the last thing I really want to do is copy the player sprite face over and over...I hope this changes as a trend.
but yes it needs LOTS of work...I agree. I didn't make that clear enough, should have included the word "CRAPPY" .
The whole point is to create a variation, without breaking game style.

I'm sure there are other opinions on how static the over-all look should remain... That being said:

The little girl with the teddy bear is adorable...we must have it!

Norgle...if the eyes are made similar to the eyes used by the sprite (not same, but more consistent with art style) I could see a use for a weird race of monsters.

Same with the child...the body type Crush shows for the child can be adapted as with the eyes, but keep the hairstyle that sal did. Consistent art that mimics the player sprite is wanted for humanoid NPCs. Something that is out of character will not be added.

With that said, Chef's barbarians offer both consistency and originality that is above the player sprite in quality and is consistent with the player sprite.

The "caveman" styled barbarian NPC can be used in another way very easily and it will probably also make the cut, but perhaps not in the originally intended way. In other words, I don't like it so much as a barbarian, but I like it very much as a caveman.
Current character is "Abolish".

When you want it to look more real and lifelike you should also add some subtile scratches, dents and dirty spots. Currently it still looks very new, despite the oxidation.
