I changed the clock face from round to oval for perspective.
This was something Jaxad had in first version, but had gotten lost in translation.

someone might want to do some small feet and ornamental finials on the top maybe, maybe not.

I don't think it will make it better. Good job!

You could repeat a few of those frames to get rid of that hiccup at the end of the loop.

You needn't put the repeated graphics in the spriteset, though. Animated map tiles can reuse existing frames.

Yes, but salmondine made a GIF to give a visual idea of the final product. Having a hiccup is not the best way to demonstrate your idea, unless you intend to have it in the final product.

Len that is super smooth clock movement...I was trying to show it at different speeds per frame...to help with xml
your gif has perfect movement and the ms per frame info is easily extracted from that.
I recommend we use the speed from the gif frame times as shown by Len to do the xml =]
I doubt it can be improved...it is perfect.

NOT repeating for Len...I know he knows this =]

But it is always worth repeating:
a gif has to show the extra frames, the xml needs only the spriteset images as it can repeat each frame from that at different ms per
frame in the xml file as needed to accomplish the same visual result.

*A thought, maybe one of our members who is skilled in xml would do a short tutorial with external links.
seems like comparing a gif animation to an xml file is a good way to show someone new to xml the basic concepts involved.

I don't have the time at the moment to write a detailes step-by-step tutorial, but the documentation of the sprite animation system is here:
http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/Animations
and here:
http://doc.manasource.org/sprite_system

This is, for sprites (characters, equipment, monsters etc.). Animated map tiles, on the other hand, work a bit differently:

Hi Crush,

Shouldn't this part be ported to the mana doc base, too, btw?

Or is there anything to fix in there first?

Best regards.

Yes, it should. Like so many other articles which haven't been ported to the manasource wiki either.

Unfortunately porting an article from one wiki to the other is more than just a simple copy&paste, because the markup syntax of the wikis is different.

Indeed. My fingers still hurt since the last hard-core documentation porting session.

Could you add a list somewhere about the articles to port?

Best regards.
