some floor tiles

Post by Crush »

while playing around i made some floor textures which could perhaps be useful some day:

Image
here some drafts for the base texture of my personal vision: the chess dungeon. from left to right: the basic tile (no, i don't want to use it. its just here for reference purpose), the basic tile with cracks and the basic tile with a color adjusted version of the gimp marble pattern #1 as texture. yes, i know. using default patterns shipped with the image manipulation software is a lazy hack. but do you think anyone would notice?

Image
and this is some other floor tile. it looks very tiled with only one different tile but when you like it and want to use it for something i can make some variant tiles.

This tile, has a funny efect. I feel like I´m seeing the floor, upside down...

Yeah the brown floor is nice, even if it could be less repetitive, but nice indeed

Good job, it doesn't even hurt to look at your art; which is good as people will look at tiles -alot-.

a flagtile pattern:
Image
by changing the colors it can easily be reused in different tilesets. sounds lika a lazy hack to you? well, square did that all the time in their snes rpgs. it doesn't only save time it also helps keeping the style consistent.

here a demonstration how drawings on the floor could look:
Image
of course it doesn't has to be a pentagram. when you want a specific symbol for a map just ask for it.

The base tile is nice.
The variations are either too dark or way too saturated.

Very nice, Crush!
We have to come to symbols of our own.
