Xands blacklist

Post by xand »

Ok, it's not a good development but I have to do it.

Pick up your items fast and be careful if you see:

Harry (green Mohawk) - he stole Item Drops (Dagger and Miners Gloves, so I count it severe stealing)
More Info:
I asked him to give back the items, but he didn't react. In fact he ran after me and stole another Drop.
Then I just sat down and waited. (And asked him again to give back - no reaction)
The next thing he did really lead me to start this blacklist:
He attracted an aggro monster and tried to get the mob to attack me. At first the monster only was after him,
but he ran around me for 1-2 minutes so it's pretty clear what he was trying to do. After he lead the monster next to me he ran away.
I had to kill the monster, and went elsewhere after that, so thats all.

In the past there were some other people but I can't remember their names or what exactly happened

More general Info:
I play this game since some versions (dunno exactly but must be 6+ versions). Now I start this blacklist to warn people or give those listed the chance to undo.

It's always those Mohawk-people... the green ones in particular.

Ah, thx for the tip.
That explains it a little. But still his actions showed his thoughts.

Also that shows the problem with non-english people that like to play tmw. :?

Hail Mana!

Is an OpenSource, Free of charge, everthing available, aways open Game. What would you expect?

Only 100% english, only Xand´s playing style people allowed?

It´s a game... some kind of tolerance wouldn´t hurt you... relax and enjoy, is, after all, only a game...

I don't know if you didn't understand what I was saying.
First blacklists are necessary for MMO games.
Second: It _is_ a problem if there's somebody who doesn't speak the
main language of a game. He can't tell what he wants, can't get help.
We don't understand what he wants, can't help him, or tell him
something he needs to know.

TALKING solves nearly all of the problems that could arise, at least
it lets you know where you stand at. :)

But if that crucial part of human society is missing or doesn't function,
you're left stranded. I just wanted to somehow express my helplessness
with this issue, as I myself probably don't understand any other language
except my own, English and Italian.

I hope you didn't understand my last post as being ignorant, negative,
intolerant or whatever, and if you think
Only 100% english, only Xand´s playing style people allowed?
well thats sad. Hope you don't do.

Reallmente no creo que ese sea el problema, dado que, hay mucha gente que sabe otros idiomas, yo he "medio" hablado con Brasileños, Alemanes y Portuges, al grado de entendernos...

I really don´t think that is the issue, since, there is a lot of people who knows another languages. I have spoken with brasilians, germans, and portuguese? (spelling?) to a minimum of understanding...

A yes, I read like you were complaining...

And yes, I also think that the other player was playing dumb...

That´s the reason of PVP :) And in the other hand, I´m level 35 or something like that, and I haven´t found any use of the money... it is worthless, so I don´t se the point about being looted...

Sorry for the misunderstanding, But I feel we are wasting too much energy in topics that doesn´t help to develop the mana world fast enough to keep players busy with out being destructuve...

Didnt a wave of Brazilian players come in? Now no offense to them but I remember in Ragnarok they would always be trouble since they wouldnt understand the rules and would always break them.

I dont know if you guys made rules yet I saw you were going too...

I say when you do get someone who can translate to translate them for all languages that you think people use who play.

>>>[14:57] xand2: Harry give back my items. Those were my drop.
>>>[45:59] xand2: What are you tryng to do?????
>>>[14:01] xand2: You trying
>>>[14:02] xand2: to train monsters?

Come on.....
It's not that I want to get _ANYTHING_ back or something.

I just want to do something about those guys that act hostile.

(I don't like the aggressive tone of your post. But you can also be sure that I can fake
_ANY_ screenshot. Just be realistic.
And I only added the screenshot because it's the easiest way to show something. I
know I was too late, but I didn't think of screenshotting it though. Wouldn't have
shown anything than just Harry next to me and a blob.
Interesting? Proved _anything_ ? -- No.
Most of those evildoers don't answer, or at most they display a smile above their head.

And now the last thing:
None of this steals hurt in any way. Really annoying yes. But not hurting. I have absolutely
enough money and I'm high level. But players that need more effort to get those items would be hurt.

And thats the only cause why I post it here. To warn other players.

Sorry man...
But you need understand... In the next time, take a screenshot of him and don't talk every time to make the dialog window be full.
It make a doubt because is more dificult to do the investigation

Yes, you're right.
Next time I'll be better prepared and take a snapshot. :)

Also I removed the snapshot from the initial post as it seems to distract more than help.

I also feel that at this stage in the game when there are little to no rules implemented, a blacklist can be helpful.

I add K!NG and iROCK to this list for:

-Repeatedly killing everyone they see with no good reason while pvp was activated.
-Trying to steal kills by attacking monsters that another player has already engaged.
-Stealing drops from other players.
All of which continued even after they had been asked to stop.

The topic can be found here. http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?t=1070

We will be working on this problem in the next few versions. Right now we are working more on our server then we will start working on more main features and other things. Be patient and just have fun for now :)
