2011-05-02 downtime

Post by Jaxad0127 »

The server was down for a few hours today (looks like from 19:42:34 CET). It looks like it was a bad crash, possibly with some memory/file system corruption. We had to restore the DBs from backup, so any progress made after about 19:00 CET was lost. We are looking into better options so that we won't loose so much in the future.

I think, server was down sooner as 19:42:34 CET...

I was disconnected at town as i was afk and the last dialog logfiles entrys are from [15:47] ingame time. That would 17:47:00 CET... right?

Probably the server was short active after the crash, so the server status crush time at http://www.themanaworld.org/ was changed meanwhile.

But as I login the first time after server crush today, i appeared at Jacko place, where i self logout at [11:08] ingame time to make something to eat. I came back at [15:29] ingame time to went from Jacko place to sit town at Hurnscald, till server crushed at [15:47] ingame time. So the restored backup must be from a timestep between [11:08] and [15:29] ingame time, or!?

So , i am little confused about your info, which DB backup of which time was restored. Please bring light into my thoughts, thanks Image

The client shows your system's time, not the server's time. Unless you used @servertime . I restored the backup from 19:00 CET that day.

Manaplus, 4144 patch shows servertime, not local time. Some clients show local time but i do not know which one... I was online when the server crashed and my last chat message is just 2 min before Gina's last one. Thank you Jaxad, for the fast fix though! .8)
