These days, yes. But people didn't used saws in the old days, so no plank was straight. Before they started baking bricks no stone used for building was equal.Crush wrote:that's the way people tend to build houses.
About those signs, they seem very flat.
Crush, I'd almost say your skill seems to be decreasing. Certainly you've become more stubborn.

the look i wanted to give to the forest village doesn't seem to get any positive response. i see that the ideas i had differ too much from what you wanted it to look. so i think it is the best when i forget about it and work on something completely different until i get another inspiration that could suit your tastes a little bit better.

Umm hmm i just want to ask one thing...
Is it human civilisation that lives in forest or is it elves?
Because:
Elves = lives in harmony with nature and nature bends it to ease the every day life of elves, either by magic or the "living energy" of tree's that are quiet common to associate elves with, being able to talk to trees or something.
Humans = forms nature to what ever they need with tools. Using materials in tehir surroundings they build after their need.
in other words humans civil. is materialised while elven civil is mystic. So if it is a elven village perhaps having gaint trees (like in the forest in US with giant trees cant remember the name of them but yea yea) that they live inside as if the trees "opens" up for the elves and lets them "build" within the tree trunk.
And if its human civil nice good job ^^ then i like the existing ones
it looks very human and a civilisation using what materials exists in its sorroundings very human.

hmm after taking a closer look to the house:
1 The house is drawn with a brick structure which would look awesome if used with bricks and "brick roof":
Look at houses built with wood to get the hang of it. Since the "skelet" of a wood house adn brick house is majorly different (son of a carpenter, been building houses on vacations for my father firm since 7th grade)
And i tell you just by looking at it you can easily start to see what can be used and not used.
2 (gonna try to give some more creative feedback ) for a house that has horizontal wooden material they are placed overlapping. so that the bottom of the "wooden plank" is over the top of the lower "wooden plank" and there are 2 times when this is not aplied. when you use wooden trunk to build (a cottage so to speak) or if its industriel made wood which has been drilled.
(its called that in swedish but i guess there might be anotehr word, litteraly its you saw it with a pattern so that bottom is U and top is (but upside down) T so that they can be put into each other to prevent water comming into the house)
Well considering the medieval "epoc" that i guess we are using (especialy for woodlands) the cottage house feels the most "right" in my opinion.
And of course if its a human civilisation
And for that i would recommend taking a closer look on those because they usualy ahve the (upside down) V roof but the tiles are most often down the "far side" and at the short sides of the house is where you have the "nock" ... aaaah stupid english >_< (will try to draw a pick for you)
