Post by Modanung »

I've started on the house tiles for the savannah region:

Ofcourse it's still a work-in-progress. Just showing.

Nice.

I don't see how the multi-story version would work from a structural point of view... Ever seen an african add a second story to his mud hut? Well, but then again, how would magic work, how did the maggots and scorpions get so big, etc... meh.

Modanung, I like this one a lot, anyway I was preferring the color choice in the concept I'll be waiting to see how does it turn out.

it obviously needs much more detail and texture. But it is a good start.

Well yea... it's just the outline with some colours to not show the grass underneath it.

Small update in the first post.
And this combination is also meant to be possible for up corridors. Ofcourse not with a round back. I'll kill the seam later.

Thanks.
I started with the outline and base colour you saw. Then I first took a darker variant of that colour and started drawing lines in the direction of the roof with a pencil with (i think) 20% opacity. 'Incremental' turned on.
Ofcourse in the Gimp using my Wacom Graphire 3. :)
And then I did about the same thing with a brighter colour.

Been working on the large roof. See the first post for the latest version.
Refreshing might help.

Ok, updated again. Improved the big roof. Added some shading too the walls. And some grass at the bottom of the walls.

Wow! Comin' along great. I think the building curves and the bottom layer of the two-layer roofs need a bit more shading, but it looks great. :D
