Following this thread, some player try to give me a lesson in the game.

i have skip the first one, now a friend of him come to show me how wrong im.
And i suppose that some others will show up to do the same.
Until this is finish, i will post on the court all the ppl who come to me to try harassment or other kind of abuse.
I have hidden the name of the player to avoid any kind of reprisals against this player.

Telling someone to log off and back on is not harassment, nor is betsancing someone. Granted it can be somewhat annoying.

If you feel like you are being harassed in the game please talk to a GM, you can do this with a @wgm command.

and a player whisper me to tell me to relog when someone #betsanc you.

so he did it 7 times and while im dead 2 times because of the #betsanc.
He did it 7 times on pupose coz when i ask him to stop he said not yet.
And like you see following the link, another one, a friend of him did the same yesterday.

So someone disturb my game experience by #betsanc me several time with intent to harm and its not harrassment?
Perhaps its another kind of abuse, plz tell.

Can you give me the definition of harrasment? or a link, or whatever you want where i can read what an harrassment is? Just for my information, to avoid to post something useless in the future.

I cant give a general statement on harassment, if i did i would surely miss some things.

What i can say is the problem that you are having is game intent. It would be like arguing that someone pvp killed you in the terranite cave, yes its "annoying", but its not against the rules. Conversely, betsanc is magic command to protect people, unfortunately it also slows some classes down, like an archer.

You do have options, you could fight as a mage or warrior. You could fight at the GY when these others are not there. I do understand how this is annoying, don't get me wrong, and maybe there intent is to harass you but the way the game is designed at the moment though, its "game intent" and Unenforceable as harassment.

On other hand I find it quite unpleasant when potioned archers with terranite arrows are outshooting anyone else on battlefield during events by factor of 2x or more. So my personal opinion is that sometimes some banshee archers may actually deserve betsanc on their head (unless there is no better way to keep game balanced and apply common sense). While I usually would not resort to it, I do admit it's really tempting option sometimes. Because overpowered banshees have ability to be quite annoying, doing kill steals and drop steals most of time. Though Houston is banshee archer as well - I see no problem why you can't pay him back in the very same currency, after all

Can't this be solved by devs? What about a potion that turns a betsanc into an agility boost or something? You would also be immune to any new betsanc for the duration of the boost. That way, as long as you have enough potions, mage trolls are actually doing you a favour.

as you can see from the log Legas betsanced Noein (with spelling error at first), i actually tried to avoid it while Noein actually pushed legas to do it. As you can see although Noein dared him to do it, he began insulting him right away... well i thought he was insulting him but when i talked with other ppl the insults were directed at me for what??!?! trying to prevent the whole situation.
as you can see from the next thing he said to me after i asked him what happened with legas...

I did called Noein a coward before the whole situation happened and it might be the reason he mistaken me with legas, though it happened quite a few hours before so i doubt it. (well seeing a banshee archer run away from a jacko without trying to hit it makes me sad).

Now actually i wouldn't do anything about it if John May wouldn't make such a story out of it. Another mage did the same thing to me in gy about a week ago when i hunted with my banshee archer, i just waited for the right time and kafloshed him back. no insults, no post on the forums trying to hurt someone's reputation... ofc revenge in either way might not be the best answer but this was my way of dealing with it, since its not a player i am friends with.
John May actually talks with me and Houston he knows us quite well, if he had problem with either of us, he could just talk to us, besides he could just look in the logs to see i wasn't the one betsancing him.
I think John May just gets easily trolled by players like we saw the example with woof not long ago.

1.i dont know who is Legas. i just noticed he is 90 and he doesn't have lazurite robe while being a mage so i asked him... it doesn't mean i know him or that i am his friend.

so maybe it is time you will consider the way you play and stop throwing all the problems you have on other players.

I personally find getting betsanced when I don't want it, more of an annoyance than getting killed while afk by a player's summoning magic .. and that *has* been ruled as harassment if repeated often enough.

That being said, I am much in favour of game-design solutions to a problem, whenever possible, with enforcement only as a last resort.

So I love WildX's idea of in some way being able to toggle betsanc. Either with a potion, or an option in the client (server supported of course) that allows players to choose if they will accept betsanc cast upon their person, or not.

Here some suggestions (if possible of course):

• creating some kind of feature in the client like button that allows you to deactivate #betsanc (see blackrazor's post in this thread)
• creating a potion that nullifies or changes certain status boosts like #betsanc (see WildX's post)
• creating a new none-cost spell that nullifies certain status boosts like #betsanc
• about #kaflosh and #ingrav: disabling that #ingrav kills you while #kaflosh is active or see the WildX's suggestions in this thread

Every "solution" that counters harrassment with the same style is not a solution that makes things better.
This includes nasty things like using #kaflosh to kill the mage that #betsanc'ed you to slow you down or #betsanc'ing banshee archers who "steal" your exp.
Don't do something you don't want other people to do with you - neither in first place, nor in second place as a kind of revenge.

its easy for you to say a player didn't invent a whole paranoid story on the forums about you trolling players in gy, cause he didn't like the way you hunt with him in gy. a, b, and c are actual players who had clash's with John May in the past i didn't post they real name cause i dont know if they want their name to be published.
Its true i am critical about the way some players hunt in gy but i never actively troll them, i either just ignore them, or ridicule them doing the smiley when they demand so much healing.
The reason i dont actively troll players in gy is cause i play all class's i know whats it is like being betsanc in middle of a battle as banshee archer, or being kafloshed as mage. i didn't see so much trolling in gy as i see in the last few months after players began to master illia and make it a doable quest for everyone. the only time i saw players trolling in gy in previous months was of real game foes, like travolta and /v\arto, but even back when i saw it, it was never repetitious, they usually left each other alone in hunting ground and saved their energies for fighting in terranite cave. now i see many players who are also my friends (i have no idea who is legas) troll gy, there is a known gy troll who drag monsters around and drop them on players, i never noticed this behaviour by him few months ago, he was actually a very nice and helpful player.

i think the real cry of players is for new hunting grounds and new content, instead of making the devs focus on fixes for harrasement this and harrasement that. we need the devs to focus on things that actually make this game more interesting and the GM's to focus on situations like this if they get out of hand.

I completely agree on WildX's post about ingrav and kaflosh. After all, these spells are for magic level 2 mages. After a certain time praticing them, even under the rain your own spell shouldn't kill you, and you should even have an advantage using it on opportunist circumstances. You're supposed to know what you do with it, especially when you're at the current highest magic level.

There's nothing wrong if more players start asking for betsanc, players who need its current effect already do ask for it. And if a mage thinks their betsanc (which already requires an ingredient to cast) plus a potion is worth the agility boost, then why not let them have it?
If the potion simpy nullifies the betsanc some mages could still troll people to make them consume their potions.

Since some people have not understood this: No one has been banned just for calling someone a pig, so you can stop trying to use that as an argument for complaints. People are banned for abusive behaviour and such behaviour is not tolerated even if the person has also shown very good behaviour.

Description of the situation.

In gy, NitayandaRama, great player and high skilled mage for the illia quest, and one of his friend start to play with me.
In first Nitay dont heal me, he was mage, he heal everybodies around in the gy but not me. So its obvious he have something against me. So i use my food. np.
Just before he run after me calling me several times : coward, coz i dont hit a Jack o (wtf??).
seriously im lv90 and banshee user, really...must i do what the others players want??
So its obvious he wanted something like insulting him idk why.
And finally he comes with a friend of him joking on me (with the emot) and telling me they can betsanc me.
What can i do? Ok do it...it was that i said.
Legas his friend did it. Np, i relog to remove the spell... they continue on their way...

As you can see although Noein dared him to do it, he began insulting him right away...

Nobody done something about Luvia/Void and Assassin/Elkaida coz they are part of the dev team? Or because they know a friend of my friend?

And like i said to Satyr, a good friend of her/him, its that he/she just forget when she/he start the illia quest, how many times and items I spent for her/him.
How i ask to my friends to let her play even she is weak coz she need to experience the quest to become strong, how many times i tell to ppl who look for a team to ask about Chayenne, even letting her play instead me...and now when i ask her/him help she/he dont want coz i dont give her/him items to heal, i dont say plz, and she/he waste time and gp by helping me coz i had lost two times in the illia quest while she was my mage? And while she help me she cant lv up her alts? why not.

When you help 10 players you just won 1kk gp.
And for sure she/he help more than 30 players in the game to do this quest.

what mage can do the illia quest actually?
who can do the mage to help ppl to do this quest?

Do you know why i left the CRC guild?
Coz several bas**d hunted ppl in the terranite cave with the guild tab.
So it was simple :

i just wisper to the player to run coz playerkiller come in terra cave to hunt him/her.

Why a gm go after him knowing this rule?
of course he wasnt banned for this but coz he try to evade the gm, so why a gm goes after him?

You surely will laugh but this player use the same way as Assassin/Elkaida.
he comes in terra cave targeting your target and if you dont go he bring a lv99 banshee and kill you.

Candy Curt a mage who leveling in gy while we were only the both, take all the exp on my back while i do as archer only 800-1000exp. All of this while half a day.
So i dont lv up a lot.
What i have done? nothing.
I dont insult him, i dont betsanc him, nor kaflosh.
you know what this player do?
He ask me if i had good exp, i said no.
He tell me to put me as speed archer.
well understand this, what mage dont know that he take a lot of exp over the others players? So this guys follow me all the time to have double exp and give me a stupid advice.
what i have done? i changed for warrior and go to hunt yeti and find on my way another player (read above)

Its true i am critical about the way some players hunt in gy but i never actively troll them, i either just ignore them, or ridicule them doing the smiley when they demand so much healing.

sorry i have missed this.
You troll ppl by being protected by them and if they ask you a lot of healing, you dont heal them?
Do you find normal to take the exp on the head of the others players and dont heal them?
