Spreadsheet to help with quests

Post by Speiros02 »

Manaworld Quests.xls
Quest Spreadsheet. I've saved it in excel format, although I made it in linux ods format originally. I'd leave it in linux, but people seem commercially microsoft microwaved brained, and don't understand that there are free and better options than that system, but anyway, enjoy.

Here is the link to the quest page: https://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/Quests The spreadsheet may need to be edited to suit this, as I used an older game to make this.

This is nothing special, but just a spreadsheet (extremely simple, no formulas nor links) for people to use, develop, whatever they want to do with it. It is to help you keep a record of your quests, as you go. Click on the link to download it, or you can copy the information if you like into your own spreadsheet program.

Here's the idea once you've downloaded or copied it:

1) Each page is to be renamed for each character you have. In other words, you may have 1, or you may have 200 etc...lol. For each new character, you will need to make a new page. Here's how.

a) To make a new page, right-click on the tabs down the bottom where the page options are...I have called them "Player Name 1" and so on. Make a new page. Once it is made, it can be dragged into it's proper place.

b) To rename the page to the player account, right click (or double-click on some programs) and choose the option "rename sheet". Call it your characters name instead of the default names.

c) Go to the first page, and select the whole sheet (you do this by clicking on the top left corner box, just outside the white part of the sheet, so that it selects ALL columns and rows. Choose "Copy".

d) Go to your newly made sheet, and select the same box, so that the new sheet has all columns/rows highlighted. Right-click, and choose "Paste". If the original page is still acting like it is wanting to do something, highlight the new sheet again (by the same method) and press "enter". This should now have a copy of the old sheet made into your new sheet.

e) Make sure to press "Save". This is in the "File" drop-down list.

2) Take note of the key at the top. Keep the names black for the quests you haven't touched. If you have started the quest, then change it to any colour you like, except for red. Use red for completed quests. If you are colour-blind, you can instead use italics for started quests, and bold for completed quests.

3) Use the comments to note what you are up to, and what you need to continue. You can even write in here what you are having problems with, and this information can be shared with others if you so choose by mentioning it either here on the forums, or by mentioning it in-game, or with the chat client.

It's not perfect, and it's definitely not made pretty, but is useful. If you have a better idea, please feel free to share it with us. Enjoy.

appears to be like a questlog you have to fill out yourself. Interesting idea. thanks for having that

you might want to put a link to the wiki's quest page in so that noobs can check this out as well. also you could write down which quests are repeatable and mark them in a different color.
