I'm going to add your map when I find some spare time, the other one will be left for future development, since we don't even have monsters to place on it.

:o Whow, very good reacticity !
it's cool to see a draw used in a map the tomorrow !

What is the most important now for this map, thinking about :
- monsters,
- NPC,
- decorative object like stone, grass, waterfall, edelweiss...
- the city ?

I don't want to ruin your good mood but that map was much older than your drawing. The first post with that map is about one year old. But if I understand it correctly the problem with adding new maps now are monsters - not enough - so try to design some :) I guess that quests and npc would be also welcome...

I think this makes it easier to compare.

I agree that we should use both. I'm certain there will be some use for both of them.

Indeed, there will probably be a use for both, but in that case there should also be slight variations to the tiles themselves instead of just color differences.

But my opinion: I feel that the lighter coloring makes it all seem unnaturally dry. Which can suit a transition from the Tonori area.

first one looks more like sand and the second more like dirt

so bought could be used...

I was going to say darker brown for the second but mountain soil isnt really rich or dark.... well depends on the case so I guess thats fine how it is...

why not have trees growing off the mountain and stuff or whatever? thats how the ones around here are... all covered with trees.

Also we have stone ledges... you could have that... it looks like stone carved outta some mountains... or just small stones down it...

Of course...
Now we have a good cliff texture we could had trees, grass, rocks...

I think we can take your cliff texture and decline it with little variation.

Have we had a limit for the number of pictures in a tileset ? (limit for memory or lag etc...)

Monsters exemple for mountains

Post by ziolive »

Exemples for monsters :

Wolf :

Bears :

Panther :
Image

Golem :

Centaur :
Image
With a mix of ibex (or goat) and man, rather than a horse.

They can be used easily in a forest map. We just change color or size :
- maroon bear, grey bear, white bear, black bear,
- maroon wolf, grey wolf, white wolf and black wolf,
- black panther, white panther, motled(!) panther, tigers and puma,
- stone golem, sand golem, wood golem, lava(!) golem.

For centaur you can change weapon and armour and making him with a horse body (sure, he's not the simplest to animate !).

Can we do flying animals like eagle ? It's possible to have a permanent animation on the animal (for his wings) ?

We already have bats.

I'd like to see every creature based on a real life creature to have a twist that sets it apart from the real life counterpart.

ziolive: even if they're quite common creatures, I must admit your drawings have a nice style.

Yeah, but in this case I'd count unicorns as real life creatures as well since they exist in the minds of people... :)

That aside, I like your simplistic, yet lively style. It seems that you could be able to mass produce ideas and I like ideas in form of concept pictures. I want more more more...

The concept is just an flying monster with 4 wings

First : Happy monster
Second : Realistic monster
Ter : Dark or frightening monster

So ?
