Yes, we need hairstyles that fit under a helmet to replace the normal hairstyle while headgear is equipped.

Modanung, what do you mean with hairstyles? The mohawk is the only one that causes trouble.
I already said my opinion on irc. The huge mohawk was a nice gimick while we hadn't got headgear, but now it is just not feasible anymore. We should replace it with a less extreme hairstyle. To find a technical solution that is only required to keep this one hairstyle in the game is overkill, in my opinion.
An alternative to keep the mohawk graphic in the game would be to make it a "mohawk wig" that uses the helm equipment slot.

That's because the miner hat is so big. A lot of headwear will only be one pixel bigger then the head, we cannot have such a restriction in hairstyles. It's not just the mohawk. Think about afro, poofy hairstyles, ponytailes, Pippi Longstocking style. We could just have a short, a medium and a long hairstyle that goes with all headgear. In all hairstyles xml file we can define their length determening which of the three (four if you include bald) shows when wearing something on your head. These hairstyles (short, medium, long) could also be used as normal hairstyles, so it's no extra work.Crush wrote:Modanung, what do you mean with hairstyles? He meant that the mohawk is only the only hairstyle that is giving problems because the miners hat is so big. There will likely be smaller headgears later that will make problems with some of the other hairstyles too, and it's not fun to restrict hairstyles so much as to have to work with all headgears. Instead, a more flexible system is proposed.Luneenia wrote:its not just with the miner hat, the santa hat does the same thing

What Bjorn said.
For example the pirate bandana headgear... all hairstyles cause trouble with it.

Well the idea was to have three hairstyles (short, medium and long) that are compatible with all headgear, define all hairstyle's length in their xml files and replace them with the corresponding length hairstyles when wearing something on your head.AxlTrozz wrote:im not programmer but my humble suggestion: it is possible to "hide" in some way the hair if you have a helmet or something in the head ? that sholud work with any hair mode...
