i suggest that the Pumpkin crature could drop some kind of "cloak" or "white cloak"

when you use it, it will look like something like this:

A robe like this should be implemented as armor. Just imagine to combine it with an armor with large shoulder pads.

Robes like that should impair attacking and dodging but improve spellcasting and magic defence.
