RFE: Quick keys

Instead of Alt-0-9 being emoticons, how about quick keys for item use? I would like to be able to assign say roasted magots to Alt-1 so when I hit it I will use one roasted magot. This would be useful in the middle of a heated battle.

I really like that idea, it would be very helpful...but how about just 1-9 not alt

I've wanted this for a looong time. If I remember correct there's a problem with remapping the keys or such.
Anyway if by some magic there will be a hotkey function where you can map the keys yourself it will make playing the game MUCH easier.
