I'd say it's a nice start, let's see how this one goes on.

Though I wanted to ask why it's missing eyes on the idle frame.

Note: I also fixed your image links, use the preview button before posting to be sure you're posting correctly.

Hail!

hmm, the initial idle tree idea is if it's not moving (idle :P) it's was like a normal tree with arms, then it's not have open eyes, but this idea can be changed... any sugestions about this? (escuse my english, i'm a Brazilian).

The walking tree need a correction in it's roots, i'm workng on this

It would be nice if it was larger, so it was more or less the size of a tree.

I just did a quick sketch of a larger tree on my DS, if its any help to you. [Link]

I find the smaller variation cute.

Although it could use more detail and the leaves should react to moving.

Quiche_on_a_leash, i supose wich current monster tileset does not support too huge monsters, i'm still respection the 45x48 pixels size of scorpion tileset, but if i was wrong, will be nice create a bigger tree, it's in my plans. Obs.: Nice drawing! 8)

Rotonen, i'm thinking in your idea in this exact moment, how fast i can work in this tiles, i'll add that leaves movement. Nice idea! :D

There's not really a limit to the size of a monster.

Although I would be careful with making monsters that are larger than 3x3 tiles (96x96) because it can lead to problems with the over layer on some maps.

As long as movement and collision in TMW is tile-based, yea.

Omg damn you, you stealed my concept
^^ once I made a concept like this one (about 2 years ago :P)
but never pixelated it ^^,

tips:
too colorful
the animation is too weird
scale it a bit (It should have at least 1.75x the height of the character sprite)

I love the way you made the leaves =D but not the way you colored the trunk ^^

The leaves seem to be a direct rip from the woodland tileset.

...which is not a bad thing considering the nice recyclation of resources for consistency we're seeing here. Although such methods only serve as a good basis.

my tree monster

I came up with this design probably over a year ago for a tree monster. Maybe it can give some ideas and be improved.
