Although is only an idea, I think even in dark grass, it will work fine. Afterall, in real life, green plants do not stand out like sore thumbs in grass field. :p

I like the pixel water better. Although the blurry waves look nice they don't fit in the environment or even the game.
Also I hope you won't forget our maps are entirely tile-based.

Hehe, I'm working on the look for the overall environment before I create the actual tiles, just as I did for the ground. You don't like the look of the water, I'll simply make a few revisions... and don't underestimate what can be done in a tile-based game. Actually, there is nothing stoping us from creating a game that surpasses Seiken Densetsu 2 or even 3 visually.

I haven't had much time to work on anything, being a cart pushing dog for Wal-Mart has seen to that, but some how I have manage to create this bush.

...and I think it's very nice, apart from being a bit too specular.

I don't think the bush is too specular, but why is there are hole at the top of the bush?

On the other hand, the house lacks perspective.

On the other hand, the house lacks perspective.
It lacks a finished roof and anything coming into the viewers space
like the reference has

It's lacking perspective is a result of an unfinished product rather than error...However, I did get lazy and did just mirror the bush, and the hole is a cup holder

Btw, I have been thinking about adding something a little crazzy to the tileset any ideas? (it seems a little uptight to me)

I think I'm done conceptualizing and will start creating and refining the cliff and water tiles.

I agree. I also think you should definitely fix the mirroring of the bush.

But all in all, I really look forward to seeing these tiles in the game! They look very nice.

Added the grass shadow tile,

It still needs a lot of work
Btw I cant help but get the feeling that I might be making this tileset look a little too different from the rest of the game

Todo list:
-Fix bush
-Finish cliff tiles
-Create high grass tile
-Fix shadow tile
-Create another tree
-Finish water and river tiles

When this tileset is finished there will be cake!!

I was thinking about how nice it would be to have a large graphical update to be released alongside the new server, it would be like playing a new game.(but chaos and madness befalls anyone brings up such a subject)

Its still in need of polishing as do most of the forest tiles :?
