Talaroc: these are the icons for he skill window. The ones above are for monster hunting skills.
By the way flare, the bevel does add alot to make the icon look 3D. Thanks for putting it in and keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the next set.

So what does the systems coordinator actually do? My job is to take your ideas for TMW and build them into working aspects of gameplay that can be implemented by the artists and programmers. If there's anything you think we can do better or differently, let me know.

I asked for the icon in that format because I thought it would fit best that way on the skill menu. Did you have another purpose in mind for it, Bjorn? I can ask Flare to cut out the background for one set of icons if you like, but I don't really see a need.Bjørn wrote:I think they're too schematic, maybe, because I too can't see what they mean. Just the slime was recognizable for me.
While it's ok to show them on a bevel, bear in mind that we only need the actual icon (with transparent background), and not any bevel/button around it.

Certainly you don't mean to integrate some kind of bevel in the icons? Even if the bevel would fit our current GUI (this brown one I think doesn't), what if we'd want to change it? No, instead we need simply the icons, and if we want a box or bevel around them we do that separately in the game.Kyokai wrote:I asked for the icon in that format because I thought it would fit best that way on the skill menu. Ok, I think I understand. If you get this message before I talk to you again, Flare, just store the bevelled background in one file and the icon with a fuschia background in another file. We will assemble them in the game to make one complete image.

Yeah, no need to bother with fuscha if one uses transparent png's...personally, I just don't like it because the color proximity gives the eye an incorrect impression of what the colors in the real image actually look like.
And...I'm sorry, but I've been trying, and I can still only figure out two (the bug and the slime). What are the other ones?

Re: Icons
Let me resolve the mystery for you, Talaroc (since you didn't just go to the master list and look like Flare suggested )Flare wrote:here are some of the icons i am working on:

1. Hunt insects
2. Hunt birds
3. Hunt amorphs
4. Hunt undead (it's a ghost, can't you tell? We should make this a real enemy. It's iconic! )
these skills increase damage and item drop rates among monsters of the given type. They all share a brown background to signify their group.
