Updated desert tileset

Post by Othello »

Hey, I've updated the cliff-walls in the desert to be less pixely. Also adds some additional tiles. Can someone with repository access put this into the game? Thanks!

It looks great, apart from one small detail. There's these spots in teh rocks where you have light brown sand, against an all sand background, it would look as if the wall has holes in it, perhaps if you make the color a bit darker it might work. Other then that it's a great improvement.

Good job. Now we need only modify our maps using additional tiles you provide. Could someone commit this tileset into SVN?

I really think Steve has made an important observation here, that shouldn't be ignored. The wall does appear to have holes in it. Those sandy spots should either be shaded or removed.

I like the sand in the rocks, makes it more realistic, so I do want to keep it, but I could shade it a bit more. I'll update the tileset tonight.

We could update it once again if we only need that, but it's far better then present used one. I also like those spots of sand. I'm against removing them, but shading would be nice.

I do think it is an overall improvement.. I only reiterated because it seemed like the previously mentioned observation was going unnoticed. Carry on with your beautification. :)

Hmm.. so will someone add this to the game? Its only a minor update... its a bit demotivating not seeing anyone taking any efford. I don't know how long it takes before a change in the game is added, but this really shouldn't be much work.

Sorry, we're all busy aside our work on this game and I think it just got overlooked. I've just committed it and will release it as a dynamic update soon. Thanks a lot for these improvements!

Thanks Bjorn! Did you commit the mantis version, or the version posted above? Reading this post back I'm not entirly sure the version in Mantis is the latest one.

Yes, finally someone is retouching the 16x16 upscaled and filtered walls without me even having to bring it up. (I have been considering more and more lately.) Almost like a holy experience for me.

Thank you just for that.
