I really liked the examples that yosuhara displayed..

I love it! We could also make the sand darken and then lighten as the wave retreatsAxlTrozz wrote:because this thread is a concept, here my first try with water animation...

(Which reminds me, we have no guidelines on palette usage.)

It would be a nice way to tie the story into the game visually, by showing what became of a once lush jungleFollowing suit, the Crystal of Fire shatters, scorching the jungle around it. Unlike previous eruptions, this explosive event seems to have more lasting effects. As the average ground temperature seems to skyrocket in many areas, Tonori transforms almost overnight, in to a barren wasteland. The area becomes known to many, simply as the Volcanic Desert.
They are so unfinished and obviously created for a different environment, so much so that it would just be easier to just create a new cliff rather than adapt those,Matt wrote:Some forgotten non-desert cliffs here:

Unlikely - he's currently working on a TBS tactical (likely for-pay) called "Partisan". Back in the day, he also briefly dipped his moist tip in the Allacrost project, but threw a hissy fit and left when another (equally good, mind you) artist tried to collaborate with him (and no, I'm not using that as a euphemism for myself).Sertraline wrote:A bit off topic here, but I noticed he was featured on the front page of Pixel Joint. The interview is pretty insightful. Anyone still in contact with him, think we could enlist his help again?
Wow, who's the intended recipient of this nonsense?Jetryl wrote:Collaboration, kids.. I know you're trying to put your own magical stamp on things, but seriously - no one Duck cares. If we're all kids, your message seems a bit harsh and inappropriately worded. Skimming over this thread, it doesn't appear that anyone said anything about avoiding collaboration, or the placement of any "magical stamps".. Maybe you've got the wrong thread.
