Animated equipment

Post by Dr Wahl »

I have not heard anything about allowing equipment to be animated, but if it is not a possibility right now, I suggest it should be on the new server. I can think of a ton of items that would benifit from having the ability to be animated. For example, if an item has a magical enhancement, it may be glowing or sparkling. Asside from magical references, I can also imagine some shoulder piece items that might be similar to floating orbs. Maybe also things like shields that are spuing fire or have eyes the blink or parts the spin or bounce around.

So, is this possible yet? If not, is it a forseable feature? If so, can anyone think of other ways that animated equipment could be used?

Yes, equipment can be animated by defining an animation sequence for the usually not animated actions (like standing or sitting) in the .xml file.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

Even for the ones that are usually animated. Just be careful with the delays and it shouldn't be a problem.
