[FND]forest tileset
Re: forest tileset
I would rather prefer the bushes higher and more thorny so that they can be used as a plausible obstacle.

Re: forest tileset
I see. I am unsure how I can make the bushes higher and thorny, so I am starting anew.Crush wrote:I would rather prefer the bushes higher and more thorny so that they can be used as a plausible obstacle.
These are the new thorny bushes. I would like to get more idea before I start making them tileable, or adding more leaves and shading:
Are these what you have in mind? And which shape should I go for?

Re: forest tileset
These are definetly better. A thorny bush is by far recognizable.

Re: forest tileset
This tileset should really start to be used, even for small areas, it's an amazing work and it deserves to be shown to the players and could also stimulate further development.
Re: forest tileset
If the tile placement on the tileset would be partially locked down and approved, the mappers could and should start to use this.

Re: forest tileset
Definitely the second one should be used.
Is it possible to make it more dense?

Sure, but I have assignments due and midterm exams next week, so it probably will take me a while.Crush wrote:Definitely the second one should be used.

Re: forest tileset
Will any of these be included in the tileset?

In game characters: "5t3v3" and "L "
Re: forest tileset
Even though the bushes can't be used as thorn, I believe there can still be some use, so I created an alternative tile the bush.Rotonen wrote:The bushes are still a bit griddy.

I couldn't figure out what makes it griddy. Maybe it is because of the white pixels? I tried adding it on top of the grass tile and this is what I got:
Or we can just make it a standalone plant if tiling is not feasible:
Anyway, I forgot to upload the shadowed version of one of my small bush (not tilable), here it is:
Re: forest tileset
I think it was some distinct shape repeating, but I'm not able to find it again trivially by just glancing at it, so I guess it could also have been a too hasty of a judgement from my part.
In the given example it does not look like something which would be shoulder or even waist height of the player. Do you picture it to be more like an ankle deep shrubbery instead of a full blown bush?
