Ubuntu 8.04 positioning bug

Post by grptrk »

hi TMW,

I have experienced several positioning problems with the linux client :

Problem 1
- playing with 2 machines on on XP, the other on ubuntu 8.04.
- position in range on ubuntu shows 1 or 2 spaces difference on xp screen
- of course no hit on the ubuntu machine
- watching the xp screen shows the "real" sprite position
- sorry no prtscrn of it...

Problem 2
- same as before but only 1 machine
- prtscrn availables and attached

this happens on all the maps.

Hope this helps :-)

regards,

There are a number of known issues where the position on your client gets out of sync with your position on the server. I suspect that what you're reporting are just manifestations of these issues - the client controlling the player is out of sync, showing you in the "wrong" location, while the "observer" client shows your "right" location.

Thanks Sanga,

i'd like to add that it is always the case, i rarely position correctly. most of the time, i run around the foe till i find the right position. as long as i don't have too many foes, it's ok, but as soon as i have 6 or more foes, i usually reappear by the stone, :-), lol.

btw, client version is 0.0.24.1

thx
