It looks very dark. Try to give it a bit more contrast.

I also noticed a lot of slightly transparent stray pixels.

Regarding the shape: I would have to see it on a character to judge it properly.

i based it off normal knights helm and i used gimps smudge for the contrast really n00by stuff sorry but its better then some of my other work which shall remain hidden hopefuly within the pages of this forum ill work on the charicter now

im sorry sir i think i made it worse i smudged in a purple for the dark effect i dont think it helped... but i tried i still have the older copy

For the Sword: Dimensions should be 32 x 32, not 67 x 77. Give it a proper handguard and a pommel, and don't use pure black. (I don't get why a thieve owuld use a sword, though... daggers would make more sense.)

I'd just start from scratch with the helmet and keep it as a reminder for later usage.

Also however cool you might consider black to be, it is not the color to begin learning with.
