Children NPC sprites

Children have a larger head in relation to their bodies. So I would suggest not to change the size of the head and when we change it leave the eyes as they are because children have large eyes in relation to the rest of the head.

I gave it a try. I used head features from both the male and the female sprite to create an androgynous face. The body is based on the male one.

And yes, I suggest to use the same base sprite for both little girls and little boys, because the only difference between the bodies of prepubescent boys and girls are the genitals. The only way to tell children apart before puberty is by clothes and hairstyles.

:O

Does this mean mana-married couples can get a child NPC. That'd be pretty amazing. Haha!

Interesting idea but I see a lot of problems with fitting it into the rest of the gameplay. When you want to explore it in detail you should open another thread about it. This thread focuses on designing graphics for background npcs you see in towns.

Tried to do a revision of a child sprite. It is of Vincent.

Things I still need to do that I have noticed. If you notice anything else, tell me.

Hat needs to be adjusted.
Something else with the pants needs to be done.

The shirt seems a bit too straight on the lower border.

Think it is good now. Suggestions that I have not noticed would be nice.

Things I did:
Adjusted Hat
Fixed Shirt
Fixed Pants
Changed Color of Hat's Stripe for easy identification

He could use shoes.

Also the hat still looks a bit out of style with the rest of the equipment.

Anyway nice improving since the last one.

Still have to buff the boots out a bit. What did you mean by out of context, the style or the color? I did the color for now, but I can easily change the style.

and with a lighter brown hat

I was referring to the shading actually which seems to be fixed by the color used in the last version.

The hat? If I made it bigger it would look ten times to big.

I didn't make the sprite for the child.

if you notice the adult player sprites do not conform to proper body proportions. The body proportion is closer to what is referred to in the manga/anime world as chibi. If we are to keep to this style the only adjustment I can see is that the eyes should be larger on the children then on the adults. A childes eyes are proportionally larger then an adults in real life too.
