Textured vs. clean cut

Post by Len »

First an example of both

Image
(zelda: a link to the past) clean cut

Image
(Chrono Trigger) textured

Both look great but I wouldn't suggest combing the two

And now us

We appear to have some confusion here and we might want to strengthen our style guidelines (or at least define what we are and establish a detail range) :?

this of course would not apply to monster/players/dropped items (but slightly more detail wouldn't hurt them)

Same and thats the direction I've been trying to push us in, the purpose here is to define some sort of loose range we can work in (which might vary slightly depending on the map)

Clean cut looks so dated! If we want quality, I'd say that we'd need as much texturing as feasible.

Understood, it should be a fairly easy fix to add texture and the design is great
