Rorotonen : Yes, I'm trying to create the city entrance using the two pillars, I'll post the advance later

Iru is correct (i think)AxlTrozz wrote:Rorotonen : Yes, I'm trying to create the city entrance using the two pillars, I'll post the advance later

If the walls are straight but have an arch, then the edge would need to cut into the wall (and couldn't be paper thin) but if the walls arched then the arches could be paper thin

Re: Desert Shrine
I'm on it, but still in progress, first I eliminate the bricks from the curved shape (this will help to reinforce the perspective view) , now I need to fix the shades (working on the right side now)
* May be we should think on a different material for the curved side of the pillar, like a more white-ish masonry or something like that
** Edit : added a new version, I put the symbol on a flat surface, added a division for the top part, eliminated the bricks so no need for perspective, I'm just trying to keep it simple and make it looks good

Much better. :)
Re: Desert Shrine
I wanted it to look as if the limestone coating was being eaten away by time (to reveal the stone work underneath)

How is this?

Re: Desert Shrine
I think what Saphy meant was the direction of the stone is odd if you think about how they'd build something like this. The stones would probably be stacked the same way as the lowest part of the pillar.Len wrote:I wanted it to look as if the limestone coating was being eaten away by time (to reveal the stone work underneath
And I agree.
If it's glass it should be more shiny btw. I like how you did the reafraction though.

Re: Desert Shrine
You two work really well together.
EDIT: Oh, why are positive comments always met with negativity OK, some input:
I'm not sure about the brick effect at the top of the pillar though. If we look at the image:
The tope of the pillar should curve away from the view, where the play would be looking from, but the bricks appear to go straight up, making it look a tad flat.

You really don't bring much to this already long thread.Insert Name Here wrote:You two work really well together.
Btw, is there a slight fish eye lens effect somehow on the pillar or is my tiredness fooling me?
