Disturbingly double-pointed sword
Apparently, we're in need of swords, so here's an idea for one.
It looks basically like this:
Double pointed, kinda long and dreadfully hard to carry. But then so are 50 roasted maggots.
The animation is based on the current swipe animation in the new playerset animations thread:
And the animation itself would look like this:
How can I improve it?

Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
It looks like all those nut and bolt monsters are going to be sorry.
Just kidding. But anyways, the shading looks a bit odd. Remember the light source in TMW comes from the Southwest at about this angle \.

Lazy bum.
Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword

I think he's trying to flail it back, hence the smaller image.

Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
I always assumed he was holding the sword backwards in that image, yeah, as in the 'lightsaber' example it was shorter.
And yes, it does look a bit like he's hitting someone with a wrench
Edit: Let's remedy that and change the shading. That looks like this:

Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
Could we just please go with the overhead swing animation presented previously?
The attack sector of the weapon in question is going to be clear to the player after playing a while.

Oh, is that the one we're using now?
Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
Nope, not that one. There was an example posted by Saphy at some point.blueberry wrote:i guess he meant this one:

Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
So it's not confirmed which animation we're using?
So why post your preferences here, rather than in the playerset animations thread?

I was trying to stop this and gear you towards helping actually finish and lock down the playerset. Badly executed by me, carry on.

Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
Well, I have no experience in animating anything like as complicated as the playerset so...

Re: Disturbingly double-pointed sword
I've been working on a monster concept called the roller-grub. Kinda like a long, rolled up maggot.
Here's what I have so far: What do you reckon?
