The "foot" of it could require some revision at some point, not that urgent, but it still seems to be just a tad bit off, doesn't it? (Then again perhaps it's just a subtle matter of preferrence.)

I think is looks great, especially the flags and sticks. The only comment I'd have is to make the foot a little more standing out, less blurry and more defined. Like the flags and sticks are already. Oh and maybe a bit of shadow, the sketch has shadow too.

I know you're right Bjorn, it's like having two different styles, I'll work on it a bit more.

Shading's not bad...but what's with the pink? I thought we were using png's.
I would also like to see a taller (2 or 3 tile) version, like was suggested.

Yes we're using pngs, the pink is the transparent color, and it's already 2 tiles in height.
I'll try a taller version anyway.

Using the png alpha channel for tiles is too cpu intensive at least with our current client.

I think the shadow is on the wrong side, as I thought the sun was in the lower left. Other than that the shadow could be more blurry, compare for example the shadow of the palm tree in desert2.png tileset.

But we will use png alpha channel someday, right?

Yeah probably in 2009 when everyone will have 128 bit processors
