Tulimshar-Hurnscald Cave
As you know it is very difficult for newbies to get to Hurnscald from Tulimshar. And if high players heard about a way to Hurnscald to avoid snakes, then they would take it. So to circumvent this I made the passage extra long so newbs would be the only ones to use it while the higher level players would take the short path (the beach) to Hurnscald.
Here's the new map:

It looks to squary.
Re: Tulimshar-Hurnscald Cave
If it's man-made it should not be like a maze, but it should take the shortest route then. (something you do not want to do that here because people should take the shortcut through the desert.)

Re: Tulimshar-Hurnscald Cave
The quickest way isn't always necessarily the best. Plus I was thinking it could have been an abandoned ore mine, which would explain the winding paths.

Re: Tulimshar-Hurnscald Cave
Even if it is man made, surely there will be large openings and unsquare paths. It is much to square. Man-made caves, such as the mines aren't that square.

Surely Hurnscald is much further from Tulimshar than that.

ATM, not really. But after the woodland has been moved to Argaes, they will be. We've discussed the on IRC, and if we want to keep Tulimshar after the change, this cave could be used (along with some magic ) to explain it.feline monstrosity wrote:Surely Hurnscald is much further from Tulimshar than that.

That's about the idea. We could always add more maps if this cave doesn't quite explain the length.
